MUSIC REVIEWS

Jennifer Lopez continues to hypnotise with yet another scorching RedOne produced club anthem! Promotional single ‘Papi’ was made for anyone to “rock their body” on the dancefloor. The uptempo cut, which has now surfaced in full, features an energetic dance beat. The sizzling production is concocted with pounding drums and pulsating synths mixed in with Latin-flavoured melodies. The track is lifted from upcoming album ‘Love?’, which will drop in stores on May 3rd.

With RedOne hatching up similar production for the likes of Kat DeLuna and his protege Mohimbi, this sound is not really exclusive, but it totally works for J.Lo. He’s certainly doing a MUCH better job with Jen and Nicole Scherzinger than he is with Lady Gaga. ‘Poison’ and ‘On The Floor’ over ‘Judas’ any day of the week!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tony Bennett partners with Christina Aguilera on ‘Steppin’ Out with My Baby’, lifted from his new ‘Viva Duets’ album. It’s not the first time they performed the jazz standard together. The pair have performed the Irving Berlin classic on numerous occasions including his 2006 NBC special, a 2006 episode of SNL and the 2007 Emmy Awards. The studio recording premiered today courtesy of MTV Buzzworthy!

‘Steppin’ Out With My Baby’ was recorded six years ago at the historic Los Angeles Theater. It’s not surprising because that photo is clearly lifted from her ‘Back to Basics’ era. It’s appearance marks the first time their duet will be included on any of his albums. Aggy is giving us some classy, clear vocals here, which combines nicely with Bennett’s. The overall tone of the song puts you in a jolly good mood too. The 86-year-old will release his new album ‘Viva Duets’, on October 22nd.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lady Gaga‘s new single ‘Judas’ premiered on Radio 1 today. A low quality leaked earlier, but now the song is out in HQ. The RedOne produced cut is clearly an obvious attempt to recreate ‘Bad Romance’ especially the chorus. In a way, don’t you feel bad for Gaga? It’s so obvious she’s trying extra hard to top herself but winds up coming out short instead.

Although the busy instruments override her vocals, at best it’s a standard pop song with metal-techno overtones and dark influences. The song itself is not exceptionally amazing, but who knows? This could very well be the track to catapult Gaga’s career to new heights. Bring on that controversial music video so religious groups can seethe in anger and rip her a new one. Listen to the track in HQ below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Keshia Chante‘s new single ‘Set U Free’ debuted today, and serves as the second offering from her upcoming new album ‘Night & Day’. Beginning with erratic buzzy synths and hand claps, ‘Set U Free’ comes at you full force with its triumphant, trance pop appeal and lyrical content, which defines a sexy ode to flirting!

The high energy club cut is written by Taio Cruz, and produced by Justin Forsley. Keshia also has co-writing credits on the track as well. Give the track a listen below. Ravey dance-pop is now IN!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Manhattan Records has debuted a preview of Mýa‘s new and upcoming Japan-only single ‘Runnin’ Back’, which features unknown artist Iyaz (at least he is to me). The track will officially be released on February 23rd.

It’s a catchy song about a troublesome relationship and features a nice nice piano melody. It’s not as hot as ‘Fabulous Life’ but it’s a really cool song. Mya at the moment, is not getting a commercial release and has to stay catering to the Japanese market. That actually kind of sucks for the US fans especially those that still want new music released on their territory. But as she said previously, lack of funding is playing a big part. Give the song a listen below.

Lloyd releases new single ‘Cupid’ from his fourth studio album ‘King of Hearts’. On the bass heavy, finger snapping production, the R&B crooner is captured by cupid’s arrow after falling deeply in love. The infectious cut is produced by Polow Da Don who is overseeing most of the album’s production.

Lloyd’s smooth vocal delivery provides sheer ear orgasm! The 24-year-old sounds his loveliest when he’s singing IN his range and not out of it. Let’s hope he sticks to this type of singing technique for the rest of the project as opposed to the ear shattering ‘Lay it Down’. New album ‘King of Hearts’ is slated to drop in stores stores on April 19th.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R&B soul diva Marsha Ambrosius is set to release her debut solo album ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings’ within the next few weeks on March 1st. ‘Why Did I Fall In Love’ features DJ Aktive and will serve as a bonus track on the upcoming LP.

Marsha puts her own spin on the R&B classic, filled with lots of Hip Hop flavour over the boom-bapping beat. Until ‘Late Nights & Early Mornings’ arrives at a store near you, take a listen to cut below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mya‘s new single ‘Love Is The Answer’ was released to itunes this week. Well, technically speaking, the song belongs to French DJ Cedric Gervais. But, just like ‘Who’s That Chick’ (with Rihanna‘s vocals) and ‘When Love Takes Over’ (with Kelly Rowland‘s vocals), the singer recieves all the momentum. The piercing electro-pop confection was produced by Gervais which he released from his 6-six song EP.
The compilation features six different remixes of the song, including the radio edit. I posted a preview of the EP this past weekend. Mya and Cedric Gervais attended the Belvedere Red Launch party in Los Angeles last night. Click here to view some photos. And see below to listen to the song in full.

Hackers keep on leaking Nicole Scherzinger‘s new music. The latest cut to leak from her recent recording sessions is the tribal dance-pop cut ‘Club Banger Nation’, which is produced by RedOne.
‘Club Banger Nation’ is an ode to partying and it’s fun and catchy overall. It’s still typical RedOne but it’s groovy and sassy. The cut is the first confirmed leak to appear on her upcoming album, and according to several online rumours, it is even pegged as a future single. Give the track a listen below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last November, producer Swizz Beatz previewed a brand new song he worked on with R&B star Chris Brown. The unfinished uptempo titled ‘Hands Up High’, contains the 21-year-old’s vocals and sees the star revisiting his urban roots once again. The pair previously worked together on Breezy’s single ‘I Can Transform Ya’.
The cut is taken from the recent recording sessions of Breezy’s upcoming album ‘F.A.M.E’ (out on March 22nd). However, it’s not yet known whether the track will be included. At present, the singer and his team are still picking out tracks for the project. Give the unmastered demo a listen below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicole Scherzinger recorded ‘Killer Love’, which is taken from the recent recording sessions of her as-yet-titled new album. The uptempo cut was produced by none other than RedOne who is executive producing her entire project.
As for the song itself, it is very much another electronically charged dancepop number, reminiscent to her lead single ‘Poison’, but not as good. Verdict: Generic at best. Take a listen below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The third track to leak from Dawn Richard‘s ‘A Prelude To #ATELLTALEHEART’ mixtape is the knocking new cut ‘Broken Record’. The Diddy-Dirty Money songstress is certainly channeling her urban side with this latest new venture of hers.
With its hard bass drum kicks, and accompanying solid vocal arrangements, ‘Broken Record’ is a banger, on all formats! I am actually anticipating this new mixtape when it drops on February 7th. She is really bringing it with these hot beats.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don’t think Cheryl Cole‘s music is as bad as many of you think it is. I’m not proud that her music is my guilty pleasure. I don’t want to like her songs but it is what it is. However, when you have somebody as talented as the soulful Adele covering your records and putting you to ferocious shame, maybe it’s time to hang up the mic and stick to slaying your competition at red carpet events and looking pretty in your L’Oreal commercials. Courtesy of The Prophet, listen to Adele’s balladry take on Cheryl’s ‘Promise This’ which she did for Radio 1 below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jennifer Lopez recorded the previously mentioned ‘Take Care’ for her new album ‘Love?’. She was rumoured to have shot a viral music video for it last year. The track has now surfaced online in its entirety.
‘Take Care’ sees J.Lo dip her feet back into the urban-pop pool. She might have even sampled from her label mate – Rihanna‘s ‘Rude Boy’ (“what I want want want”). It sounds unfinished which would explain why it’s not as good as it could be. And it DOES have a real catchiness about it. Check it out below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keri Hilson is dripping everywhere – in her head, in her bed. Very nastaaay. But given the trashtastic raunch she’s been serving up with latest album ‘No Boys Allowed’, is it any surprise? The latest cut to pop up is the Timbaland produced ‘Drippin’.
With its thumping beat and infectious synth line, it has that rump shaking factor that you’d probably get down to at the club. And according to TheTimbalandBuzz.com, the track can be found on the Japanese release of the album as a bonus cut. Go on. Wet your ears and give the track a listen below.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We’ve previously covered new artist David Vines aka DMV previously. He’s about to drop his upcoming EP/album entitled, ‘Fly…735′ which he produced and wrote with his musical partner King. After touring with Sleepy Brown (serving as his vocal arranger and background vocalist), the 22-year-old, who hails from Richmond is ready to go it alone.
Check out his first single, the synth-laced R&B cut ‘Law and Order’, from the upcoming compilation. The track is a play on one of his favourite shows on TV… ‘Law and Order: SVU’. The message? “In the courtroom of love, even the most infallible can become casualties of their own passion. It is only the lessons learned, and their response in the form of action that truly defines character. These are their stories…” Take a listen below!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R&B crooner Omarion could not hide his surprise when a new song of his made its way online this week, and even suggested that there may even have been a hack. It might just surface on a future new album. We hope so because ‘Forgot About Love’ is hot!
O emphasises that love takes a long time to happen, encouraging people to fast forward to just plain lust (having sex). Opening with a piano and guitar riff, the track transitions back and fourth from a fast paced uptempo to a slowed down finger snapping beat.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Previously posted was a snippet to Nicole Scherzinger‘s ‘Guns & Roses’, and now the track has leaked in full. The song is comprised of rocky guitar riffs and sees the singer releasing her inner freak. Ms Scherzinger is not here for the sappy stuff but wants the wild adventure instead! Bang bang bang me baby! Bang bang bang!
The 32-year-old previously made mention that the project will see her experimenting with a variety of different sounds. And the rock ‘n’ roll influenced cut is different compared to what we’ve heard so far.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jennifer Hudson has just premiered ‘Where You At’, the first single lifted from her sophomore album ‘I Remember Me’ (out in stores on March 22nd). The R. Kelly penned, Harvey Mason Jr produced ballad is plagued by thumping drumbeats, accented by a melodic piano melody and overwhelming powerhouse vocals.
The R&B slow cut sees the singer begrudging a fella for standing her up. Whilst I cannot stand R. Kelly at this point, nothing can really deny the man of his talent and his knack for penning a really good song, with a lot of depth. In any case, give the track a listen below in its entirety.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A snippet of Nicole Scherzinger‘s ‘Cold’ has been floating around for quite a while, and now, the Dave Aude produced cut surfaced in full over the weekend. Aude is also the mastermind behind her latest new single ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’, which she is currently shooting a video for. The song is a critical profile of a once-affectionate lover changing his colours.
Starting off with airy synth lines breezing in and out, the song transitions into an array of percussive drum beats and an inspiring piano melody. Scherzinger uses her vocals in a way that may just seal her case as an underrated singer. The way in which she repeatedly puts emphasis on ‘baby’ towards the end is pretty chilling. It’s not yet known whether the track will make the final cut. However, with its rather engaging production and solid vocal arrangement, it should!  Give it a listen below.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Musiq Soulchild decided to premiere his funktastic new single ‘Anything’ through Swizz Beatz‘s ‘Monster Monday’ series last night. As it goes, Swizzy will be travelling next week which is why we get the new music a little early. ‘Anything’ is the lead single from Musiq’s upcoming new album ‘TheMagicTheMusic’.
The Swizz Beatz assisted cut sees the soulman making a plea not to cheat and he came correct with the oldskool, disco-influenced cut. The beat is absolutely flaming; lots of souring synths, snazzy horns, the full works. You might even recognise that the feel-good uptempo heavily samples Central Line‘s ‘Walking into Sunshine’ (1981). Take a listen below and get groovy with it!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Criminally underrated R&B songstress Dondria sprinkled some of her feminine sensuality to Chris Brown’s ‘No Bullsh*t’. On the slinky, grown & sexy remix, the So So Def signee uses her soulful impressive vocal delivery to call on her man for a night of passion.
The talented singer is set to release her new mixtape ‘Dondria Duets 2′ on Valentines day and this is one of the cuts that will feature on the upcoming compilation. After the jump, you can check it out below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jennifer Hudson will release her highly anticipated sophomore album ‘I Remember Me’ on March 22nd on Arista Records. The album’s first single, ‘Where You At’ written and produced by R. Kelly, will be serviced to radio on January 24th.
A 30-second snippet of the song can be heard now at her official website! Click here to listen! The album is available for pre-order starting today on her website. The album boasts production from Ryan Tedder, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Rich Harrison, Ne-yo and Stargate. Read on.

Lady Gaga remixed a new song from ‘Born This Way’ yesterday for the Thierry Mugler fashion show in Paris. Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti has just debuted a short film featuring Gaga’s remix in high quality.
The electronically fueled house cut is partly sung in German and is contagious enough to spill blood on those dancefloors everywhere! The song was remixed by Gaga herself who did not attend the event for yesterday’s menswear show. Take a listen to the track in its entirety below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lady Gaga debuted the official remix of her new single ‘Born This Way’ earlier today at the Thierry Mugler fashion show in Paris. The original version of the song will premiere on the night of The Grammys (Feb 13th), where she is confirmed to perform. The track is lifted from her upcoming new album, also titled ‘Born This Way’ (out on May 23rd).
The audio is not that great but you can make out that it’s very techno-driven. Tomorrow afternoon, Mugler creative director Nicola Formichetti will debut a short film featuring Gaga’s remix. The footage will premiere on both Mugler.com and Stylelist.com. Therefore, we’ll soon get a much better/lengthier quality of the song. Stay tuned.

Yesterday, we posted a snippet of Mya‘s new Japanese-released single ‘Fabulous Life’. On that same day, the track was released to itunes. The uptempo cut has now surfaced in full, along with a brand new fierce promo picture which she posted on Twitter (see inset photo). Mya definetely came correct with ‘Fabulous Life’. It’s absolutely my cup of nut and so much more!
I have been loving the throwback 80s sound of these catchy pop melodies lately and this just gave me serious life. I absolutely love it. The track is fun, it’s upbeat, it’s got lots of sass and it has loads of crossover appeal without sounding too contrived. It looks like the R&B songstress is really pressing ahead with the music this year as her new music video for ‘Love Is The Answer’ is expected to premiere any day now.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

First of all I would just like to say that I’m Liam and I’m back as part of the blog, and I’ll be doing my best to update on some great artists and attempt to bring some good new music and reviews to everyone! The highlights in my posts will be in blue, so you can easily differentiate between the different posters!
That said, Mya is out with a new single in Japan that undoubtedly caters for a Japanese market, though its appeal is undeniable! She has been my favourite artist for years, and although she’s not as mainstream as she once was, I admire that she is still on her grind, releasing music for her fans. Her new single, Fabulous Life, was released today in Japan, and the airy, light-hearted electropop song is one of the best things she’s done in a while, in my opinion. Listen to a snippet under the jump and buy the single on Japan iTunes if you feel so inclined!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris Brown is channelling all of his musical energies into the mainstream sphere by releasing his second pop single from upcoming new album ‘F.A.M.E’. The new song is the Benny Benassi produced ‘Beautiful People’. On the cut he sings about the importance of inner beauty.
The club-ready song is packed with trancy synthesisers which I am sure is destined to become a future hit on the pop charts. Pop Chris is cool, but I’m more a fan of his R&B stuff and not anything you’d hear at a down-marketed Ibiza rave.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Previously posted was a snippet of ‘Venus’, the jingle for Jennifer Lopez‘s new TV commercial ‘Gillette Venus’. The RedOne produced cut is a remake of the 1969 classic ‘Venus’ by the Dutch band Shocking Blue.
J.Lo’s take on Venus is absolutely bananas! RedOne outdid himself with this really infectious number. Packed with tons of synth and a hot keyboard composition, I give him props for actually producing something that’s not a recycle of his previous work. Take a listen below!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rapper Flo Rida decided to spit some bars on the new Britney Spears single ‘Hold It Against Me’. Of course, with the song’s soaring popularity (topping the download chart in 17 countries), a rapper was bound to jump on it eventually. And I guess it had to be him. Having said that, this unofficial remix is tragic. The dubstep breakdown is so hot that he practically ruined it with his lame flow. Sometimes an extra verse from a guest feature can make or break a song but this does the song no favours whatsoever.
The original track stood strong on its own. Click here to take a listen. In related news, Seventies band The Bellamy Brothers are considering taking legal action against the singer and her songwriters because they claim ‘Hold It Against Me’ has “major similarities” to their 70s hit ‘If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me’. Poor chick can’t catch a break.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The RedOne produced ‘On The Floor’ from Jennifer Lopez leaked yesterday in snippet form. The Pitbull assisted uptempo has now leaked in full, and it is packed with lots of trancy synths, energetic goodness and unstoppable club fun!
The track is reportedly the lead single from her upcoming new album ‘Love?’, set to drop in stores this year courtesy of Island Def Jam. The club banger also samples Kaoma’s 1989 hit ‘Lambada’. Check it out!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We can only hope Jennifer Lopez finds some sort of success this year. It would be really embarrassing if another decade goes by and she’s still painfully trying to reclaim back her glory days when her music was actually – hot. We previously reported J.Lo name dropping a brand new song she had worked on with RedOne for her upcoming new album ‘Love?’.
The track in question is titled ‘On The Floor’ and it has a ‘Waiting For Tonight’ feel mixed in with a ‘Lambada’‘ sample. But at the same time, it’s very RedOne. An exclusive snippet of that very Pitbull assisted song has now surfaced online today. Check it out below!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Pop phenon Lady Gaga is coming back at the same time as her fellow pop heavyweight Britney Spears and things will become really interesting next month. A snippet of an unreleased Gaga song has just surfaced in the form of ‘Animal’.
Reportedly, the track is an old demo which will NOT feature on the singer’s hotly anticipated new album ‘Born This Way’. Take a listen to the drum-driven cut after the jump.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Pussycat doll singer Nicole Scherzinger‘s second single ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ leaked today. No pun intended, but don’t hold your breath that this will be a hit in the US. It’s quite bland and lifeless, but the midtempo pop cut is still in its demo form. With its plodding drum beat and soft melodies, the track might even be acceptable for a fourth single or album track.
However, it’s not the type of song you’d choose to lead the album with. The first demo actually served the song a whole lot better than this, and even Keri Hilson‘s R&B take on the song was more favourable. ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ will be released on March 6th in the UK, followed by the album on March 18th. Take a listen below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Former Sugababes songstress Keisha Buchanan will release her new album later this year courtesy of Island/Universal Music. A new track from those latest recording sessions has surfaced in the form of ‘Under Control’. The unmastered pop uptempo is pretty generic and is plagued with lots of buzzy keyboard sounds.
Ultimately, it’s quite underwhelming – not hideous but not that good either. It also heavily attempts to ride off the very sound that the Sugababes are notorious for. Check it out below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year, UK soul songstress Corinne Bailey Rae released her fantastic new album ‘The Sea’ courtesy of EMI Records, and she’s been touring a lot to support it. The 31-year-old also took the opportunity to record a new EP which is titled ‘The Love’. The mini compilation consists of several remakes of some of the legendary music pioneers she’s been inspired by.
Stevie Wonder, Prince, Bob Marley, Paul McCartney and Sly Stone recieved love on the project which will be out on Valentines Day. Her fabulous remake of Prince’s ‘I Want to Be Your Lover’ sees the singer take on the 70s/80s funk anthem which is so far out of her comfort zone. However, she does a compelling job of the track. Take a listen after the jump.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another leak from the recording sessions of Kelly Rowland‘s new album lies in ‘Hangover’. The infectious uptempo is packed with lots of club groove goodness and a pleasing 80s feel.
The Andre Merritt assisted track emphasises regrets after two people cheat on their other halves by having a drunken one night stand. I have not really been feeling much of Kelly’s dancepop direction lately and at first I thought it was a little contrived, but this is one of her stronger moments methinks. Take a listen below!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The new Britney Spears single ‘Hold It Against Me’ surfaced online HOURS ahead of its official premiere today. The club ready dance track has Britney’s vocals on the Dr. Luke & Max Martin produced song and she practically nails it. In other words, she pretty much britnified the track and it sounds much more rousing then the demo that leaked last week.
The electronic savvy pop fest also comes complete with a banging dubstep-infused breakdown. Now, all we need is a hot dancentric music video, which I am not getting my hopes up for. Still, we can have a little itsy bit of hope right? Ryan Seacrest says she’s been rehearsing hard for the visual which will be shot around next week. Listen to the mastered finalised single of Britney Spears after the jump!
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With Ginuwine‘s new album ‘Elgin’ dropping in stores a day after Valentines day, it’s not much of a surprise that he’s showcasing more of that romantic side on the project. And on the Tank produced and assisted ‘Heaven’, Ginuwine croons about the one he’s crazily in love for.
It’s a really nice grooving R&B ballad, which starts off with a sweeping piano riff, accompanied by amazing vocals from both parties. Ginuwine will release his brand new album on February 15th. Until then, take a listen to the track below.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

R&B star Chris Brown keeps the club moving with yet another dancefloor flavoured anthem in the form of ‘International Love’. The Pitbull assisted song is filled with screaming synths and dance oriented bass lines. Some sources are saying it is actually a Stargate production, whereas some are citing RedOne. Who knows?
It doesn’t even sound like a Chris Brown track as he is mainly singing the hook and does not have the dominating feature. That leads me to think this is a Pitbull featuring CB, not the other way round. Still, we’ll just have to wait and see where the song ends up. Breezy’s upcoming LP ‘F.A.M.E’? or Pitbull’s upcoming LP ‘Planet Pit’? The track sounds a bit generic but either way, take a listen to Breezy admiring the females from a global standpoint below.
 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ryan Leslie needs to put down the mic and produce another ‘Me & U’ for his ex-girlfriend Cassie. We all know her career really needs saving right now and her sugar daddy Diddy couldn’t care less. Anyway, the talented producer premiered a brand new song from his upcoming studio album ‘Les is More’ whilst performing in Paris recently.
‘Beautiful Life’ is a midtempo cut comprised of drum beat sounds and the aid of a Korg keyboard which he played the hell out of during the end. He name dropped this song previously which he wrote and produced in Paris. I’m not that crazy about the song and his rapping is just… well, leave the rapping to the rappers and stick to what you’re good at, Ryan.

Former Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams has been busy in the recording studio putting together her upcoming new album, scheduled for release later this year. One song to surface from those recording sessions is the finger snapping midtempo ‘If You Wanna Go’ which of course is blatantly produced by Stargate.
And since the song touches upon dishonesty, cheating and relationship insecurities, I’m willing to bet some serious money that Ne-yo wrote it. With the 30-year-old lining up Timbaland and Rico Love for the project, I’d say she was targeting a more urban pop sound as opposed to the europop effort of her last album. Now that all three (or four) Destiny’s Child singers are releasing albums this year (only one is a definete guarantee), we might just be in for a hat trick here.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With R&B music becoming more and more extinct these days, at least someone is still aiming to fly the flag. I need my R&B from time to time. That is why I’m happy to report that R&B veteran Ginuwine has premiered a brand new song titled ‘Break’ from his upcoming new album ‘Elgin’. And he’s definetely in with the oldschool.
The beautiful emotionally-charged R&B ballad debuted courtesy of a promo clip which he has just released. His forthcoming new album ‘Elgin’ will also drop in stores on Feb 15th. Click on the picture to get a bigger view of his official album artwork and listen to the amazing track below. I absolutely love it! If you have yet to watch his latest music video for ‘What Could Have Been’ click here. An official album tracklisting has also been enclosed.

Last night, Lady Gaga joined friend and jazz musician Brian Newman onstage at the Plaza Hotel’s Oak Room in New York City. Funnily enough, it looked like she’d just sucked on a lemon. Gaga took the time out to perform ‘Orange Colored Sky’ and ‘Someone To Watch Over Me’. Shortly after that performance, she later posed for pictures with fans. You can check out more photos and some grainy footage over at the source.
Meanwhile, the other pop heavyweight which Gaga is being pitted against continues to cause further anticipation. A demo said to be the new Britney Spears single ‘Hold It Against Me’ surfaced online today. Many Britney fans are convinced it’s the real deal. Read on.

 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some are questioning whether or not the demo is fake or real but according to evidence, it all points to it being real. And here’s how. The demo opens with the lyrics that producer Dr. Luke confirmed on Twitter recently: “Hey over there please forgive me” (first line). Bonnie Mckee is said to be the singer on the demo for ‘Hold It Against Me’. On Twitter recently, she spoke about the new Britney single.
Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Bonnie Mckee all have songwriting credits on the Britney version. The demo that leaked is produced by ‘Riz’ resulting in the singer possibly passing it onto Max and Luke who then reworked the production. Youtube are yanking the demo off their site with the quickness alluding to theories that the demo could be the real deal. And lastly, popjustice confirms the demo is real. Give it a listen below!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hot 97‘s Angie Martinez just debuted a new song from the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. Mary J.Blige covers Diddy-Dirty Money‘s ‘Someone to Love Me’ and it features Diddy himself as well as rapper Lil Wayne.
The MJB Naked Mix of the Jerry Wonda produced cut, consists of light drum sounds and features a sample from The Sweet Inspirations‘You Roam When You Don’t Get It At Home’. Blige is said to be dropping an album this year so this cut will serve as just the starter until the main course.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hollywood socialite Kim Kardashian‘s musical journey kicked off during the New Year celebrations where she premièred her new single at TAO Las Vegas. The singer’s music career is being assisted by her BFF Ciara‘s main producer The Dream.
As reported previously, the 30-year-old shot the Hype Williams directed music video in Los Angeles with rapper Kanye West. You can check out some low quality audio of the song and another new shot from the impending visuals after the jump.
That’s the good thing about being one of the top socialites in the country. You can venture into ANY industry without having a lick of talent, as long as you have the body and the looks, you can go there. Still, it will be interesting to see how she successfully pulls off this pop star role as opposed to her other noted roles (reality star, porn star, athlete trophy, socialite, etc).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For his upcoming new album (to be released this year), RedOne protege Mohombi teams up with Nicole Scherzinger for a brand new cut titled ‘Coconut Tree’. The track is about two people enjoying intimate moments within their exotic surroundings. As you’ve probably guessed, this is another derivative, samey, Island-flavoured dancepop uptempo produced by RedOne.
All of Mohombi’s music sounds the same. There is no versatility in his sound whatsoever, and with a name like that, it kind of makes it hard for people to check for him. Nicole, who was also taken on board by RedOne for the majority of her upcoming new album, will enjoy some success on European territories. But as for the US, I just can’t see it happening. However, that all important judging role on The US X Factor could do wonders.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The New Year is finally here, and 2011 has officially arrived! That means we have an interesting month ahead for upcoming new music. Yay! Our second post of 2011 is the latest new track by R&B star Chris Brown. ‘Look At Me Now’, the new urban single from his upcoming new album ‘F.A.M.E’, features Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes.
‘Look At Me Now’ has that pulsating bass and the thumping beat is backed by the aid of a drum machine. The beat is killer! Breezy was always one who knew how to deliver a hot urban groove as well as an infectious pop one! Breezy’s new album is definetely one of the main R&B releases I’m looking forwards to. ‘F.A.M.E’, will drop in stores this year. Now listen to the cut below!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chris Brown is putting all his focus back into music again. Big yay! Apparently, his new years resolution is to “shut the hell up and vomit on every track I touch”. The R&B hunk also posted a new track with rapper Pitbull on his Twitter page. It’s called ‘Where Do We Go From Here’ and it is produced by Jim Jonsin.
Piercing electronic synths, a thumping dance beat and a killer chorus plague the euro-club cut. Dare I say it, but this beat is bananas.
